Ducati has been making high-quality motorbikes for 90 years, since the company was founded in 1926. Owned by Audi through Lamborghini and the Volkswagen Group, this private motorcycle manufacturer is in good company. Sometimes referred to as the Ferrari of motorcycles, Ducati is world-renowned for their desmo-dromic valves, sexy designs, and beautiful engineering simplicity. Collectable Diecast has a number of diecast motorcycle models of this highly coveted brand, but here are a few of the best!
The 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200 is an impressive superbike, sporting many new and unique electronic and design features. New ergonomic engineering and a keyless ignition system are just the tip of the iceberg for this powerful machine. The bike is a smooth ride at higher RPMs, making it a great choice for long trips and high speeds. Four different engine power modes are available, allowing the motorcycle to act as a Sport, Touring, Enduro, or Urban vehicle at anywhere from 100 to 150 hp. This vehicle also has multiple storage compartments and optional add-ons as well, making it an especially attractive option.
This proficient and beautiful Italian 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200 has been replicated to perfection by Maisto for collectors and lovers of superbikes alike. On a 1/12 scale with a stunning silver paint job, this diecast model is a captivating and highly popular vehicle to add to any display.
With the rule-change in 2002 giving four-stroke machines more importance in World Road Racing 500 class, Ducati made their return to the MotoGP Championship with the Desmosedici GP models. The name, Desmosedici, is short for desmo-dromic distribution with sixteen valves in Italian, derived from the unique Twin Pulse Double L-twin engine design. The 2011 model had the maximum allowed 800 cc displacement and many other impressive specs, but unfortunately it didn't have much racing success as both race drivers Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden complained of insufficient feedback from the front-end brakes.
Maisto has once again come through for collectors with this impressive 1/12 scale recreation of the 2011 Ducati Desmosedici GP Marlboro. This model comes in a beautiful red color complete with the decals from the Ducati Marlboro Team so anyone can enjoy this bit of vehicle history.
Designed by Ducati's Damien Basset, the Ducati Streetfighter S is an award-winning motorbike, taking the 2013 Best Middleweight Streetbike title at Cycle World and the Middleweight lap record at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This impressive Streetfighter is prized for its ability to be heavily modified to fit any rider's tastes, whether it be installing termi slip-ons, a new pressure plate cover, or a fender eliminator kit. While the motor weighs less than its predecessor, it is still reported to produce up to 155 hp.
The Ducati Mod. Streetfighter S makes a gorgeous model for any collection. Due to the fine work of Maisto, this Streetfighter bike is available in red and black on a 1/12 scale, showing off all the impressive features of the real thing.
