The 300C was part of the post-war movement by American car manufacturers to create performance vehicles which led to the creation of the muscle cars of the 60s and later on. The 30C had a more V8 engine which was more powerful than that of the retroactively titled 300A and 300B.
At the time of production it was advertised as the world's fastest stock car, yet to todays car enthusiasts it seems more like a high-end personal luxury car. The 300C became the first American car to exceed 1 horse power per cubic inch.
