The Mercury Eight, as shown here, was basically a Ford spin-off until it came into its own over time. The Eight was a fully fledged and separate model by 1948, coming in Sedan Coupe, Station Wagon, Convertible, and Town Sedan form. The car was very popular with hot rodders down to its easy to modify style and relative cheapness, even soon after it was new. It was powered by a 100 bhp V8 engine and had a longer wheelbase than most Fords of the time.
This is the green 1/64 version of the '49 Mercury, produced by M2 Machines.
