The Batwing, a combat air vehicle, was designed by Anton Furst and custom built for the 1989 Batman movie. It features a distinctive sickle shape to reflect the symbol of the movie. Five models of different sizes were constructed for use in the movie, but only one was full scale. The Batwing has a wing span of 35 feet and is armed with lasers, four wing-mounted missile launchers, and two side-mounted mini-guns. This popular DC Comics franchise has featured the Batwing in different versions throughout the comic and film series, but this form first appeared in the Tim Burton film. In the film, it was used to fight the Joker but was shot from the air by his long-barreled revolver. The Hot Wheels 1/64 Retro Entertainment 2016 Series B Batwing is the diecast model to complement any Batman collection.
