Edsel was around for just two years between '58 and '60. It was one of the biggest commercial failures in American automotive history, partially because Ford produced cars under the Edsel marquee without thinking about the market whatsoever.
Edsel cars were priced the same as Ford's Mercury cars which meant that customers wanted to go for the safe bet and get a Mercury instead of something new. Despite special commercials, high levels of secrecy, TV adverts and TV special programs, the Edsel was a flop.
The Edsel cars came at the wrong time in the wrong place but are now valued as being extremely rare and great collector's items. Pick up a diecast model from this under-appreciated brand.
